Our Pastor - Phil Fernandes
Dr. Phil Fernandes
Trinity Bible Fellowship is under the leadership of Dr. Phil Fernandes, who has the rare combination of a classical education, a keen intellect, a wry sense of humor, and most of all, a heart dedicated to Christ - full of love and compassion.
Besides being the pastor at Trinity Bible Fellowship,  Doc, as his students affectionately call him, teaches Bible and Philosophy at King's West School in Bremerton, WA.  He also teaches apologetics and philosophy for Columbia Evangelical Seminary and the Imago Dei Institute. He holds a PhD in philosophy of religion and has publicly debated some of America's leading atheists.
Dr. Fernandes is the president of the Institute of Biblical Defense which was founded in 1990 to teach Christians how to defend the Christian Faith.

 

Dr. Fernandes has earned the following degrees:

 

  • A PhD in Philosophy of Religion from Greenwich University
  • A Master of Arts in Religion from Liberty University (where he studied apologetics under Dr. Gary Habermas).
  • A Master of Theology degree from Columbia Evangelical Seminary.
  • He is currently doing Doctor of Ministry studies in apologetics under Dr. Norman Geisler at Southern Evangelical Seminary.

 

He has publicly debated leading atheists in defense of Christianity at colleges and universities such as Princeton and the University of North Carolina (Chapel Hill).

 

Dr. Fernandes is a member of four professional societies:

 

  • The Evangelical Theological Society
  • The Evangelical Philosophical Society
  • The International Society of Christian Apologetics
  • The Society of Christian Philosophers

 

He is the author of several books:

  • The Atheist Delusion: A Christian Response to Christopher Hitchens and Richard Dawkins
